Being a Christian Teen

Okay, let’s be real… As Christian teens in this modern world, our lives aren’t exactly sunshines, lollipops, and rainbows. Trying to live for God and just desire his word constantly contrasted against the modern culture of our environment is suffocating, and sometimes we find ourselves alone with big decisions that are burdensome for our age.

I mean, at one point, you’re totally convicted about your music and you reroute your playlists, yet not even more than an hour later, you walk into Walmart and ‘Party in the USA’ is blasting. Besides cultural temptations, the fear of standing out is definitely a very serious plague. The ‘looks’, the judgement, the mockery, does it ever stop??? And the non-verbal seems to hurt the most. People assume you’re missing out, and at some point, we start to believe it too. But we’re not. We stand out, and we should be proud of it.

Being Christian doesn’t make us perfect, but it means we’re trying- trying to walk with Christ every day in a world that judges our every move.

So, whether you’re the only Christian in your friend group, you’re discouraged by even your youth group or figuring out the sacrifices and blessings in following Christ, this is for you.

Join me as I document our struggles and celebrate our wins along with encouragement from God’s Word.

Because like 1 Thessalonians 5:11 tells us to do: “Wherefore comfort yourselves together, and edify one another, even as also ye do.”
